Why Do You Do Graffiti / How to Start Tagging

Graffiti is one of those artforms where no matter where you come from, you’ll likely be able to connect and bond with others in the community over the passion we all share in graffiti. Many of us come from all walks of life, some people live in the middle of a small town in the country, while others live in the inner city, yet despite the stark difference, the love of letters is a common ground we can ll bond through. One thing I always found interesting was peoples different reasons for doing graffiti, even more importantly, why do people become writers?

The feeling, or reason that compels a person to risk everything just to be a writer is a strong, irrational desire that almost becomes an obsession for most. So with that in mind, when is too young to begin doing graffiti and should you even do it to begin with? Personally, I think graffiti is harmless, and graffiti is for all ages. Graffiti is great for instant gratification, and children and teens getting into graffiti will have a blast drawing letters. However, becoming a writer on the other hand, I dont advise this for anyone of any age and any mature minded writer with experienced will agree. However, if you choose to become a writer anyway then Id simply say only begin if you’re willing to accept the consequences for your actions. Getting caught is a very real possibility, in fact, its almost guaranteed if you do it long enough, and if you’re not willing to accept that then you may not be cut out to be a writer.

With that, comes the question of “how do I begin?”. Luckily for you, we actually wrote a few blogs about this already, you can find them here if you’re interested.
